Ending up June

It's the end of June already, time flies.

This is the happy side of my kitchen in Vickery =3

- Trust me, you wouldn't like to see the sad side ><

*T-minus 4 day in counting*

Slacky = =

Long slacky weekend...

Need to...

Get my bum off and start studying again ><

*T-Minus 13 more days (13, unlucky =x=)*

T-minus 17 days in counting

Ah, had this feel of blogging something tonight, mainly cause i tried to finish up my homework, and almost did (bright side). Hmm, was glancing through my un-updated friendster tonight, when i had a look at how everyone was doing back home. Hmm, today's the 18th of June, marking my 5th month and 2nd day in Perth. Time flies when you're all alone living in the wilderness away from your family. Okay, face the fact, actually time is crawling when i think of home, and only flying when i'm sleeping =x=

Okie, enough bout my life here, my blog has tons of that to read about. Actually, i'm kinda shocked about Project "T-minus 15 days", i don't know, just feel that i am suppose to be like jolly and happy when i meet everyone again. Familes are okay, as i just can't wait to meet them, but my friends back there? Except for a few really close friends which i constantly contact with now, i've almost lost most of the contact with people back home.

Coming to Perth, Australia is like another part of my life. It isn't like some continuous ps2 game where you can just save everything up inside the memory card and bring it to the next game play. Coming here means a new start, learning new things, and of course starting a new phase in life. Then then, what happens to the old part of life?

I would certainly like to keep all the good memories and learn from all the bad ones, still, it's something i still miss a lot. Days of slacking in school, consistently trying to break into the music room in school, food, reading in my own lil room, and of course, being with people that i know, trust and love so ever much.

I'm not saying that all these can't be found in Perth, it's just that, everything went back to square one, and i'll have to re-do all of them one more time. This time, with more effort and passion =3 Things are going on well at the moment, with large bunches of good-old Malaysian groupies in school, my ever so homey IMC, and my trying-to-make-it-feel-like-my-old-room room in Vickery house. (Think it's my touch touch lamp at home)

Anyway, this time, my project shall not fail xD Time to take a chunk of the past, to pin it inside somewhere my tiny heart, and bring it along as i shall continue my journey in Perth. =3

And with pics from the 3 most most most most most most loved peoples in Miri, it's time to say good night once again everyone. Sweet dreams too everyone =P

Love,
Oliver.

Thoughts of the day.

Hi guys, been 4 days since the last post, and i've been thinking a lot of stuff here, but lazy to work out my hands, but nvm lar, now i'm blogging already =P

Hmm, had a lot of thoughts these few days, mostly due to the loads of free time i have which i'm even lazy to slack already (does something like this even exist = =). I went to Karawara this afternoon due to the boringness i was forced to go through, so i went for chilliz for lunch.

Chilliz was disappointing, without my usual honey chicken, i had to settle with bbq chicken, which is practically flour with chicken skin, not in real, but because it tastes like well, plain as flour. Then, i missed the bus and ran around Karawara to kill time.

*Runs around*

As time was up and i went to the bus stop, i was shocked to see loads of little kids running around, without their parents telling them not to. My mom would have already been chasing around trying to catch me. Then then, things went weirder.

An Australian was calling me "boy". Then i looked behind me, stood 3 Australians (2 man and 1 woman), which i assumed were the parents of all the kids that were running around. They first asked me what i was doing and i twisted things a little to keep myself safe. Blue refers to the Australian that had tattoos over his body, while red refers to me. Below is our conversation :

"Hi there mate, nice day isn't it (drinks)"

"Hi there (smiles), nice day indeed"

''Yup. So fella, what do you have there"

"Nothing much, just normal groceries"

"Oh okay, then what are you going to make there?"

"Huh? Pardon me?"

"What are you going to make there lad? Fried rice?"

"Oh (Gets the question), Well, just some plain food."

"Sounds good you know, we could live with a chinese. (drinks)"

"Erm, erm (scared and trying to reject him), i'm a bad cook, even i myself think that way."

"That's okay. Lad, can you spare us some food here, we're out on the streets and we have a lot of kids here (points to the kids and a baby)

"Sorry there, i just brought enough money for my groceries, see?"

"Okay, thought you were from that chinese shop there, then it's okay."

Being scared, i quickly ran to the front of the bus stop, which i not-very-patiently waited for the bus to come. Finally it came, and i went on the bus as quick as i could, as i noticed the 3 Australians and their kids following me, i quickly sat beside another random guy inside the bus, being afraid that he (the Australian that was talking to me), would suddenly come to sit beside me and continue the conversation.

As i finally left the bus and walked home, i saw the bus pass by me once again with the 3 Australians inside. Then it suddenly stroke me right at that very moment.

What if i were to be him in 10 years time? Having tons of kids to feed, without a proper job or house to raise them in, or a stable income to raise my family? What if i had to ask a lil boy for food around the streets with so many kids following me around?

Emo-ed for a second at that spot. Man, do i really need to study hard and get a good job in the future to feed my family. Can never never never never never have something like that happen in my life, no way i'm gonna let that happen dude. ><

It gave me once a wake up call of what my mom continuously mentioned to me right before i came to Perth, to study hard, get good results, enter a good uni, get a good course, find a good job and get a good life in the future. I used to dream of getting all that without working hard. Coming to Perth opened my tiny view of this world. Whatever you give, is whatever you'll get. Only working hard will get you somewhere in life.

Really, it's time to work hard.

Finally.

Finally, tests are over and soon is Term 2 of my Canning College life, with 3 more weeks to go before i'm home sweet home. Well, the tests were fairly okay for applicable, info sys, english and chemistry. Calculus is always the outliner. Still trying hard to really love it , even though it's needles-of-failing poke me hard each time my papers come down. T.T

This was my time table throughout the exams :

5th June - 9.00a.m. : Applicable Maths
6th June - 9.00a.m. : ELACS & 1.30p.m. : Chemistry
10th June - 9.00a.m. : Calculus & 1.30p.m. : Information Systems

Well, it all started a few weeks or days before when the dense feel of the tests came into and everyone started studying. The day before our tests, we studied until midnight, and i remember it to be still midnight when i finished my notes and came back from Joyce's room. Then we did some exercise, cleaning up our unit, well, actually we're forced due to the inspection and everyone had to pull their lazy bums from the chair and clean. Didn't manage to get a lot of pictures due to the tiredness, but still managed to snap Edward's sleepy eyes when he was cleaning the toilet.

Oh ya, forgot to mention, Edward is the super gengness, cause at this kinda weather (5-10 degrees), he can still sleep and sweat in the morning. Salute to you Eddy ><

This is our examination seats. Love it when you can choose on where we want to sit. So if we're feeling a lil gloomy, we can sit at the corner alone, or happy by the window with loads on sunshine, and of course, sitting with friends in test is nice, and comfy. =3

Due to my tonsil inflammation (something like that), which hurts whenever i swallow anything like water or food, i cooked porridge within one of the days. Almost failed when cooking with the rice cooker, and ended up cooking with the pot, which was okay, looked like porridge, tasted like porridge with a lil maggie sauce. Bingo, my first home made porridge.

In the meantime, just more studying, stressing, tension and then barely any sleep and no fun = = So came today, my last day for my mid year exams. With calculus starting my day, i had to wake up super early today to finish up some notes, with help from Edward. Right after i managed to cook my 1195813298th package of Indon Mee in Perth (lost count), our fire alarm rang so loud that i thought i lost another 300 dollars again. But Thank God that it wasn't our unit ringing the alarm up. The other unit was on fire (not big biggie), and then our alarm went crazy for atleast 15 minutes. I had to munch my indon mee outside while freezing and everyone was there too, took 15 minutes away from more studying in calculus. And then the firemen came,

And it was definately a good wakeup call for all of us before going for test. Look on the bright side, noone was late that day for sure.

- - - - - - - - - - Tests....... Tests......... Tests...... - - - - - - - - -

As the bell rang, so ended my exams. Didn't feel the holiday mood yet, most probably cause i'm the only finishing from my unit, and everyone still have physics tomorrow. Oh well, score another day of more rest for me. Upon reaching home, i slacked a lil and loved it. Then i was on msn with aarr since 5, until now still, and cleaned my room up, wiped it, and vacuumed it, and it looks so fresh and new ( proud of it =3=3 )

Before :
- The messiness with all my things around, bed undone, dirty floor, and just plain messy.

After :

- The last picture really makes my room look so romantic with the lighting. Definately going to have a nice sleep tonight with my clean room and a clean mind from my tests. And it's been so long since i had such a peaceful night. Oh ya, currently addicted to "Bye bye" by Mariah Carey, but i'm not saying bye to anyone yet, cause i don't wan =P *being a kid*.

To everyone that are still having tests or gonna have tests soon, gambate ya, it's going to be soon before all of it is done with and the holidays are coming. To everyone else, take care still with the cold weather kicking in already, and nights, with wishes that all of you can have a good night's sleep today with sweet sweet dreams. Nights.

With Love,
Oliver

Miri !!!!!!!

Today has been such a boring day of studying without much choice due to the mid year tests coming up soon. So when i came back, decided to do something fun (i think it's fun), to image google up Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia.

(Thanks to Johnny, Matt, Roger, Jordan, Naoki, The two sabertooths, the sexyhood, and everyone for the idea)

If you guys have no clue on what Miri is, or where it is, let wiki explain to you =3 You don't have to read it though, cause even i didn't read it ><

Miri is a city in northern Sarawak, Malaysia, on the island of Borneo. Miri is home to a population of about 300,000 people and is thus the second largest city in Sarawak. It serves as the government administrative centre of Miri District (4,707.1 square kilometers) in Miri Division of Sarawak. Miri was elevated to city status on May 20, 2005 and it is the 10th city in Malaysia (Sarawak is the only state in Malaysia with 2 cities, Kuching, the Capital and Miri)and its local authority i.e. Miri City Council is the 10th city council in Malaysia.

Okay, since im born in Miri, so let me show show you some parts of Miri which i lurve so so so so much.

- This is the Grand Old Lady, like it's name, it's a sense of proudness for all Mirians for it was one of the founders of Miri, and still like all Mirians, it stands proud on top of miri, glazing upon our peaceful blessed city.

- Okay, these are a few of Miri's eating spots, the all so famous bah kut teh, Ming's Cafe, Sun City, and Hot Cross Bun, one of the few places that Mirians would never ever ever ever trade for anything else, and a place to limteh (yamcha).

- THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Food is an essential in life, and for Miri people, it's something that no one can ever miss. The above is a display of food of Miri. There is the char siew bao, chao fen gan, yu yuan tang, KOLOK MEE (KM), and nagaliar nasi lemak. Btw, KM plays an important role in maintaining miri, and the minds of international students like us.

Okie guys, that's all the pics i can get from google, and
I MISS MIRI, an irreplaceable place, in the minds of millions.

*Miri Boleh !!!*

P.S. - All the pictures above are really from Miri, except the kolok mee (from Kuching), but still, somehow like Miri's =3
